Leeds United are said to be interested in snapping up Matej Vydra from Derby County this summer.

Leeds are said to be targeting the Derby forward, who is valued at £10 million.
The signing would have to be considered a serious statement of intent, and he is a player who has been on Leeds’ radar ever since Evans was at Elland Road.

In January 2016, Vydra was linked with a move to Leeds, after Evans said that his side were missing a player with his skillset.
“I think we are missing a genuine ten player. That one who can link that midfield (and attack),” Evans said to BBC Radio Leeds.
“You know, not Vydra, but almost like a Matej Vydra type who can pull into those holes, pull into wide areas and suddenly create room and opportunities and who is very talented on the ball. Someone who unlocks defences.
“That’s the type of player we also need in to the football club.”

Leeds’ options in attacking midfield are arguably improved now, with Pablo Hernandez and Samu Saiz both at the club.
However, the Whites have lacked a goalscorer and Vydra could increase the threat in their forward line.
Vydra scored 22 goals for Derby last term, but could be sold as Frank Lampard’s side look to raise funds this summer.
If Leeds do sign Vydra, they are said to be willing to offer Tom Pearce in exchange, in an attempt to reduce the asking price for the Czech Republic international.
