Do Tottenham have a lifeline of signing Jorginho?

Tottenham Hotspur-linked Jorginho may not wind up at Manchester City, potentially leaving the door open for Spurs.

The agent of Tottenham Hotspur-linked Jorginho has revealed that Manchester City are exploring other opportunities following an impasse during negotiations.

Pep Guardiola's side are strongly linked with the Brazil-born Italy international whom Napoli want around £60 million for.

According to The Daily Mail [Live Transfer Blog, 09/06/2018, 15:33], City need to up their offer by roughly £9 million if they want to sign Jorginho, who is also linked with Tottenham.

However, his agent claims that the Citizens are now "working on their second choice".

Joao Santos told CalcioNapoli24: "Napoli and City have not found an agreement. There is a distance of about €10m. City are now working on their second choice.

"The player is waiting for Napoli's decision: he still has two years on his contract, we will not renew."

Liverpool have also been credited with an interest but Jurgen Klopp's acquisition of Fabinho, and the imminent arrival of Naby Keita, means that the German manager probably won't renew an interest in the 26-year-old Napoli star - but Tottenham should.

For a while now it's looked very probable that he would end up at the Etihad, but this revelation is a potential lifeline for Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino who, according to The Daily Mail, is also a fan.

With Mousa Dembele's future in North London looking uncertain, it seems logical that the Lilywhites should consider capitalising on the potential collapsed negotiations between Man City and swoop in.

Tottenham would have to smash their transfer record to sign him, but what a signing it would be.
