Tottenham have been long linked with a move for de Ligt.

The 18-year-old is said to be interesting both Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs as well as Italian champions Juventus, after another excellent campaign with Dutch giants Ajax.

Wonderkid de Ligt made 39 appearances in all competitions for Ajax during 2017-18, scoring three goals and captaining his side five times in the Eredivisie towards the end of the season. He has even picked up five Holland caps.
The report claims Spurs have table a bid of £48million, but a move is likely to be far from done with Ajax said to be holding out for a fee of £52.5million.

However, Spurs willingness to bid what they have is said to have ended Juve’s interest in the defender, who have been priced out of a move with the price tag deemed too expensive.
It remains to be seen if Ajax will accept the bid from north London, with de Ligt’s contract still having three years to run at the Amsterdam Arena.
