Ejaria looks set to become signing number four of the Gerrard era at Rangers, with a loan move to Ibrox said to be close.
Glasgow Rangers could complete the signing of Ovie Ejaria within the next 48 hours, according to the Daily Record.
The 20-year-old has played eight times for Liverpool's first team, although it is to Sunderland, perhaps, that Rangers fans should look for a lowdown on their potential new recruit.
Ejaria spent the past five months at the Stadium of Light, playing 11 times as Sunderland slipped out of the English Championship.
This is what the Mackems fans are saying about him on Twitter...
Ejaria to sign for Rangers.— Connor Bromley (@ConnorBromley) 3 June 2018
Good luck Gers fans hopeless footballer
Slightly harsh maybe ?! He played in a side almost devoid of any self belief or tactical awareness. Showed flashes that he has ability. Could be better at that standard.— Lee Barker (@LBarks72) 3 June 2018
In hindsight he was a really bad signing. A young, soft, luxury player was never what that team needed. He’ll look good in a good team. Hasn’t (yet) got enough character to grab games by the scruff.— Simon O'Rourke (@sorourkeITV) 3 June 2018
I thought he got better towards the end of the season , think he might come good— Jay Hart (@JayHartWheeler) 3 June 2018
Slightly harsh i think. Obviously raw, and lacking what it takes for Championship football. But it was his first experience of proper football, not his fault he wasn’t what we needed.— Matthew Keeling (@M_Keeling) 3 June 2018
Hardly hopeless, he a good player just not strong enough— Joseph Gorman (@JoeGorman_) 3 June 2018
Deffo a player in there somewhere , needs to get his head up tho and learn to pass age on his side thought— southstand sid (@stainsy19731973) 3 June 2018
Ejaria will be a decent signing for Rangers. He looked poor here but as soon as the fraud left he looked like a very decent player.— Wearsiders (@SAFCL1) 3 June 2018
Ejaria to Rangers.. I hope not, he was absolutely mince at Sunderland.— Matthew (@fezza_safc) 3 June 2018
I’ve defended the lad tbf, I definitely think there’s a decent player in, good with the ball at his feet— Rich (@SAFCRichGarratt) 3 June 2018
Lacked confidence imo, has the potential to be a good player. Showed glimpses of magic at times (dribbling). Ended the season on a high with a good performance vs Wolves. Hopefully will develop under Gerrard who id assume knows him well— Lew (@Lew_Safc) 3 June 2018
He was rubbish for us.— Richard Tuff (@RichardTuff1) 3 June 2018
Ejaria would be signing number four of the Gerrard era at Rangers, after Allan McGregor, Scott Arfield and Jamie Murphy, whose loan deal was made permanent last month.
The Ibrox side finished third in their second season back in the Scottish Premiership and will be looking to challenge mount a title challenge this coming campaign, after Celtic claimed their seventh successive crown in April.
Is the former Sunderland loanee a good signing for Rangers?
