Liverpool's season may be over, but Anfield did play host to more football on Sunday afternoon as Brazil took on Croatia at the Reds' home.
The Champions League final – in which Liverpool lost 3-1 to Real Madrid – brought the curtain down on the domestic campaign, and now it's full steam ahead to the World Cup next week.
Brazil are one of the favourites to win the World Cup in Russia this summer, and they took on Croatia at Anfield on Sunday in order to prepare for their group stage games, which will see them take on Switzerland, Costa Rica and Serbia.
Tite's men were fairly poor in the first half, but the introduction of superstar Neymar sparked the game into life, as he went on a mazy run inside the box and smashed home the opening goal with the aid of the crossbar.
Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino then scored on home turf to seal a 2-0 win, bringing down Casemiro's long pass before lobbing the ball over Croatia goalkeeper Danijel Subasic.
Not only did Firmino score on his home ground, but another notable Brazilian was in action at Anfield, as Liverpool target Alisson – wanted by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp in a £61million deal according to UOL Esporte in Brazil, having held talks before Sunday's game – started in goal for Brazil.
The Roma shot-stopper has been linked with Liverpool for some time now, and Sunday's game handed Reds fans a chance to see him in action at a stadium he may well call home at some point this summer.
However, Liverpool fans were left unimpressed by Alisson's display, suggesting they were far from convinced by the 25-year-old's display as he uncomfortable with the ball at his feet, with some worried that he may not be much of an upgrade on Loris Karius at all having failed to impress in a friendly.
May be an unpopular opinion but I haven't been convinced by Alisson, not today and not in the CL games we played against them. I know our attack is good but the keeper we need has to make outrageous saves #LFC— suspect134 (@suspect134) June 3, 2018
Alisson’s not having a great start at the Kop end... Time to switch the summer search towards Oblak. #LFC— Ben Williams (@BenitoWill) June 3, 2018
Been more impressed by Croatia's pressing than whatever it is Brazil are trying to do and also Alisson looks super uncomfortable on the ball, but I've only been half paying attention so— Liverpool Offside (@LFCOffside) June 3, 2018
If Alisson is struggling in just a friendly game, then wonder what he'll do in a CL final. Karius did perform well in all the bigger stages except the CL final. He deserves another chance cos Alisson isn't convincing me #BRACRO #LFC— Don (@Dattydon) June 3, 2018
Although Alisson looks great, Oblak over him everyday of the week— CO (@CallenLFC) June 3, 2018
Wasn't impressed with Alisson today tbh. His kicking and distribution were both shocking. Takes too long on the ball when being closed down as well. I'd rather have him than Butland still not worth the asking price though @LFC #LFC.— Lee (@SALAHDNA) June 3, 2018
Want my unpopular opinion? I hope Karius stays in net next season as our Number 1. Unless we are getting Oblak, we should stick with who we have. He made some mistakes but it's just one game. Not convinced about Alisson. Very dodgy at Anfield #LFC— LAUREN (@TheFirminoShow) June 3, 2018
Alisson screwing around with both long and short passes and maybe it's Anfield that does it to goalkeepers— oh you beauty (but also known as nate) (@natefc) June 3, 2018
