Liverpool are still reeling from Saturday's 3-1 Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid, but one of their players was in action this morning in an international friendly.

With the domestic season now over across Europe, the attention turns to international action with the World Cup on the horizon, and Mexico are preparing for this summer's tournament in Russia.

Juan Carlos Osorio's side were in action against Wales in Pasadena, California, this morning as they gear up to face Germany, Sweden and South Korea at the World Cup.

The two teams played out a 0-0 draw, which will certainly please Wales boss Ryan Giggs as he looks to bed in a host of young players early into his reign as manager.

Among those youngsters was Harry Wilson, as the Liverpool winger earned his fourth cap for Wales following an impressive second half of the season on loan with Championship side Hull City.

The 21-year-old played 64 minutes as he turned in an impressive showing, sparking reaction from fans on Twitter, both of Wales and Liverpool.

Many suggested that Wilson was impressive, praising him for 'oozing quality' and for being a major threat throughout, with Cardiff City and Swansea City fans urging their clubs to make moves for the winger.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will keep Wilson or loan him out, given that The Scottish Sun claim Rangers are pursuing his signature, but having excelled in the Championship and shown promise internationally, it may well be time for Liverpool to give the Welsh talent a chance in the first team and leave Rangers disappointed this summer.
