Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with another defensive midfielder.

A report in The Telegraph this weekend re-affirmed Tottenham Hotspur are open to selling midfield destroyer Victor Wanyama.
The very same night The Sun reported Spurs are eyeing up Colombian midfielder Wilmar Barrios.
Barrios is billed as an ‘enforcer’ and would cost £25 million, more than double the feel Spurs paid Southampton for Wanyama two summers ago.

So while Spurs would have to pay more to sign Barrios, they would be set up perfectly for chairman Daniel Levy to flip a huge profit on Wanyama.
The Mail reported last month that Tottenham value Wanyama at £50 million.
This way they could sell him for close to that fee, and have his replacement signed for half the price.

Barrios is two years younger than Wanyama and is expected to feature this summer at the World Cup.
Spurs would have their replacement for the Kenyan, and even they they have to sell him for a little less than £50 million, they would be selling for far more than the £11 million they paid.
Cashing in at a high price is what Daniel Levy does best, and signing Barrios allows him to do that with Wanyama.
