According to French news outlet RMC Sport, Aston Villa have submitted an offer to Strasbourg striker Stephane Bahoken ahead of his contract expiring.
Villa are into the Championship play-off final after seeing off Middlesbrough in the semi-finals earlier this month, and now take on Fulham for a shot at a Premier League return.
Steve Bruce has made Villa hard to beat and may already have plans for the top flight, with transfer targets no doubt in his mind already, even if Villa stay down.
Another attacker may be needed given that Lewis Grabban is only on loan from Bournemouth, and French news outlet RMC Sport report that an offer has been made to Strasbourg ace Stephane Bahoken.
Bahoken, 25, came up through the ranks with Nice and even spent time in Scotland, joining St Mirren on loan in 2013, before heading back to France with Strasbourg.
Since making the move to Alsace, Bahoken has impressed, and he hit nine goals in all competitions this season, including seven in France's top flight.
The problem for Strasbourg is that Bahoken is out of contract this summer so can leave for free, and Villa have allegedly swooped in to offer him a contract in a bid to clinch his signature.
Barnsley and Udinese are also thought to have submitted offers, whilst Angers, Amiens, Montpellier and Rennes could join the race, which Villa hope to win this summer.
