The newspaper claims that despite their interest, Leeds failed to make an approach for the player, who was brought to Oakwell by Whites boss Paul Heckingbottom.
The versatile right-back is said to have featured on the radar of several Premier League clubs this past campaign, and would be a good addition for most Championship ones on paper.
But as the following Leeds supporters point out, the Whites are one of the exceptions, with Luke Ayling, Gateano Berardi and Lewis Coyle among their many options in Yiadom's position.
Here's what they're saying on Twitter about the Ghana international's supposedly imminent Reading move...
We have Ayling and Coyle anyway... to me that's more than enough— Curtis James (@CurtJames1993) 17 May 2018
Smart decision. #LUFC have 3 of them already in Ayling, Coyle and Berardi with one up and coming (Hosannah)— The Hard Man (@TheHardMan21) 17 May 2018
Right decision. Ayling & Coyle to fight for the right back slot. Probably our strongest position.— Shaun Meddings (@medds14) 17 May 2018
On a level I’m quite happy we aren’t getting yiadom, don’t get me wrong he’s a very decent free signing for majority of teams in this league but coyle deserves to challenge ayling for that right back spot— jake stevens (@jake_stevens99) 17 May 2018
A really daft interest from #lufc imho we’ve ‘as it stands’ we’ve got Ayling Berardi Coyle Hosannah as Specialist right Backs and Pearce Denton as Specialist Left Backs with Anita who can do a job and ‘cover’ at both was not needed more important positions needing strengthening https://t.co/VotReg8qjN— Benny Tayls (@BennyTaylsLUFC) 17 May 2018
Don't need him anyway.. got Ayling and Coyle— Jamie Prior (@JLP0302) 17 May 2018
Good. Sounds decent to be fair but Ayling/Coyle with Berardi 3rd choice should see us right. https://t.co/pEb69zxkw5— Biff (@StevieBiff) 17 May 2018
Fine with this. Ayling & Coyle are the way to go.— Josh Hobbs (@JoshAHobbs) 17 May 2018
ridiculous they even considered it! not needed at all #LUFC— David J. Lowe (@SonicAngel2010) 17 May 2018
I’m glad they came to that conclusion Phil, would have been a crazy signing in a position where we don’t really have an issue!— Graham Marchant (@gmarchy14) 17 May 2018
Quite right. Never understood why we might have needed him— Matt (@mattolufc) 17 May 2018
Yiadom is not the only free agent said to have interested Leeds ahead of the summer transfer window, with Hull City's Abel Hernandez being the latest.
Should Leeds lose sleep over Reading's potential Yiadom deal?
