Report: Chelsea set to end Charly Musonda's Celtic loan at the end of the season

Scott Brown of Celtic and his team mates celebrate victory after the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox Stadium on March 11, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Charly Musonda has started just three games for Celtic since arriving on loan from Chelsea in January.

Chelsea are set to recall attacking midfielder Charly Musonda from his 18-month loan deal at Celtic at the end of the season, according to Goal.

The 21-year-old arrived Parkhead in January as a high-profile addition to the Hoops squad given his talents and potential.

However, Musonda has played just eight times for Celtic across all competitions, with only three of them starts.

The Belgian youngster is clearly not in manager Brendan Rodgers' plans, sometimes not even being selected on the bench by the former Chelsea youth coach.

Chelsea aren't pleased with the situation, as Musonda is highly-rated back at the London club where he is currently receiving treatment for a broken shoulder.

They plan on sending the attacking midfielder out on loan again, with first team chances still hard to come by at the Stamford Bridge.

Musonda is indeed a talented player, but he is clearly no way near his best, and consistency seems to be an issue.

The Belgian was supposed to help provide stiff competition at Celtic, but he is not even featuring as a squad player, and from the look of things, he might have already played his last game for the Scottish giants.

With no goals and just one assist to his name, it is safe to say Musonda won't be missed at Parkhead, although his failed loan stint could hinder Celtic's chances of landing Chelsea youngsters on loan going forward.
