‘Iranian Messi’ Sardar Azmoun is on the radar of several of ‘Britain’s top clubs’, with Wolverhampton Wanderers – along with Leicester City and Fulham – the latest club linked.

And Wolves’ promotion should give them more ammunition with which to fight the likes of Leicester, Everton, Celtic – with Fulham hoping to follow them up in the coming weeks.

Two-footed Azmoun – who plays as either a central striker or in behind one – has scored four goals and set up another five in 23 league games this season.

And the 23-year-old could see this summer’s World Cup as a chance to put himself in the proverbial shop window.

Wolves are likely to want to strengthen up front this summer, especially if they opt against a permanent deal for loan striker Leo Bonatini, who has failed to add to his 12 league goals since the start of December.
