Premier League-bound Wolverhampton Wanderers are said to want Sardar Azmoun, a 2017 target for Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic.

Any team hoping to challenge Wolverhampton Wanderers in the transfer market this summer could have a really difficult task on their hands.
The Championship winners have some of the most ambitious owners in English football right now, not to mention the money and the connections to bring some real star quality to Molineux as they prepare for a return to the Premier League.
And according to The Mirror (April 22nd, page 48), Wolves are hoping to start their summer spending by bringing in Rubin Kazan’s Iranian international striker Sardar Azmoun. But this is a name that will be familiar to Celtic supporters.
The Scottish Sun claimed last summer that the Scottish Premiership giants were interested in Azmoun, despite the fact he had a £10 million price-tag on his head, which would have made him Celtic’s record signing – exceeding the £6 million they spent on both John Hartson and Chris Sutton.

The Mirror points out that Celtic have made their interest known in Azmoun, who is far from prolific with just four goals to his name all season, yet has the two-footedness and big-game mentality to succeed on British shores.

The report states that Azmoun could arrive as a replacement for the in-demand Moussa Dembele, who is understood to be a £15 million target for Villarreal. Plus, Odsonne Edouard might not be at Celtic next season either- with PSG said to be considering sending the Hoops loanee to Vitoria Guimaraes.
So Celtic might need a new striker – and may have the funds to smash a transfer record that has stood since 2001.
