Leeds United fans on Twitter do not seem overly bothered about Pontus Jansson's fitness boost.
The Sweden centre-back returned to training on Friday and could be available to return for Leeds in this afternoon's visit of Barnsley at Elland Road.
Jansson, a £3.6 million permanent signing last summer, missed the 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa eight days ago through injury.
And although he is contention to face Paul Heckingbottom's old side, plenty of United fans on Twitter have turned on the man who was unaninmously adored by the Whites' fanbase last season.
Here is how they reacted to news of his fitness boost:
"Pontus Jansson's tragic......." That one?— Stuart Grant (@McClumsy84) April 19, 2018
Sell him anyway— Andrew Moore (@AndrewM34932152) April 19, 2018
Just in time to be sold in close season— Chris (@cdelly00) April 20, 2018
sick of Pontus and his ooooh me leg hurts saga he’s been average at best his hearts not in it anymore— Martin Cooney (@Cooney9Martin) April 19, 2018
Drop him to bench!— jules borbély (@julessandra) April 19, 2018
Leave him out— Dale Brown (@dale_brown_) April 19, 2018
Will he be wearing gloves?— rushlufc (@rushlufc) April 20, 2018
The perception about the former Torino and Malmo star is quite a contrast to how Leeds fans felt about him last season, when he and Kyle Bartley formed one of the best centre-back duos in the Championship.
But his form has dipped without the Swansea man beside him this season and the no-nonsense, passionate figure who supporters once loved has a job on his hands to reclaim some of their affections.
