Everton are said to be interested in signing Ajax's Hakim Ziyech.

Hakim Ziyech of Ajax looks on during the UEFA Europa League Final between Ajax and Manchester United at Friends Arena on May 24, 2017 in Stockholm, Sweden.

According to Calcio Mercato, Everton are set to move for Hakim Ziyech in the summer - but there must be questions over why the attacking midfielder would want a move to Goodison Park.

While Everton would be able to offer Ziyech Premier League football and a wage-rise, he must look at Klaassen’s lack of progress and be concerned about what could happen to him if he makes the switch to the Toffees.

Klaassen impressed hugely at Ajax last season, but he has barely been given a chance at Everton this time around.

And Ziyech must have some concerns that the same could happen to him if he was to opt to move to Everton.

As a result, the Toffees’ failure to use Klaassen this term, may come back to haunt them.

If Ajax do decide to sell Ziyech, there is likely to be plenty of interest in the Moroccan, as he has been one of the stand out players in the Eredivisie.

And Ziyech could be forgiven for thinking that he would be better off at another club than Everton, after seeing how badly the move has gone for his former teammate Klaassen.
