Tottenham fans have been reacting on Twitter to the reports that recently emerged from the Daily Mirror which suggested that Spurs could consider selling Mousa Dembele after the World Cup.
The Belgian has just over a year left on his contract with the club and has put talks over a new deal on the back-burner until after the tournament in Russia. But Tottenham are supposedly bracing themselves for all eventualities.
According to the Mirror, Spurs could decide to cash-in on Dembele during the coming window if they are unable to agree fresh terms with the 30-year-old and are already considering potential replacements for the former Fulham ace.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the news has been met by quite a negative reaction on social media. Dembele is a class act who is so important to the balance of Spurs' side, so losing him would be a huge blow to Mauricio Pochettino's squad if they do not get his replacement right.
There has however, been some support for the idea of selling the cultured midfielder. Dembele is not exactly the most reliable option when it comes to his injury record, and this summer may be the last opportunity to get something like the kind of fee that a player of his quality should command.
It must be mentioned that it appears that there is a long way to go before Dembele looks exit-bound, but the general consensus certainly appears to be that Spurs would be putting themselves under an enormous amount of pressure if they allowed him to leave this summer.
Here is the best of the reaction...

Would be mad to sell this year but finding an understudy to Dembele is crucial. Fantastic player but his legs are starting to creak. Replacing him will be our hardest task. https://t.co/bJjQZ97vt2— GPav (@G_Pavlou) April 17, 2018
Done alright without Toby/Rose this season and with their injury issues, Toby approaching 30, getting 100m for them wouldn't be a bad bit of business. Especially if they want 180k a week as reported. Dembele I'd be gutted to see go, but at 30 and with his injury past ♂️— Nursey (@3YardScreamer) April 17, 2018
Dembele hasn’t got many years left in him, unfortunately. Makes me sad and reminds me of the VDV situation— COYS (@JordeepG) April 16, 2018
Dembele dont deserve the £££ 5 games a season isnt good enough. Toby on the other hand..— I hate Levy more than Campbell (@JamesOdono) April 17, 2018
