Leeds United fans have their say on defender's apology.
Leeds United defender Gaetano Berardi has issued an apology for his poor disciplinary record this season.
The versatile full-back is serving a suspension after picking up his third red card of the campaign.
Leeds' poor form has highlighted Berardi's ill discipline, and while he is not the only one guilty of this, he has apologised for it.
Berardi's contrition is positive, but it does not hide the fact he has been a big disappointment this season.
The Swiss defender was a real fan favourite heading into this campaign and he has some making up to do.
He is evidently keen to still play a part and knows his place at the club is at risk, along with his teammates heading into next season.
Fan morale is low after the club's awful 2018 which has brought just two victories.
Berardi's apology at least offers some hope he will try and get back to his best, but Leeds fans need action and not just promises.
Here is a look at how fans reacted on Twitter to his comments...
Fair play to him for sitting down & apologising on camera, as it's clear to see that this has affected him.— We Are Leeds (@weareleeds_) April 16, 2018

Forgiven from my point of view. At least you care which is far more than I can say for a lot of the squad.— Subegh Srao (@subegh_srao) April 16, 2018
His exactly what we need at leeds his ability may be questioned but he is fantastic professional who genuinely does care— Josh Stone (@Joshstone23) April 16, 2018
Fair play to him fronting up, First person at the club to actually apologise, He is a good squad player and he does work hard/try his best. Too many have been quick to write him off through frustraation. He just can't be missing the amount of games he has 'going forward'. #LUFC— Tom Holynski (@ThommHol) April 16, 2018
