An incredible number of Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to laud Mo Diame after his stunning performance against Arsenal on Sunday, while Rafa Benitez has also received an enormous amount of praise for the way that he has transformed the midfielder in recent times.

The Magpies took themselves to brink of Premier League survival with a superb performance against the Gunners at St James' Park. It looked at one stage however, that Newcastle may leave themselves with a little more work to do before survival was secure as Alexandre Lacazette handed the visitors the lead inside 14 minutes.

It was a fantastic display from the home side who have been in incredible form since the turn of the year. Their only league defeats have come against Manchester City and Liverpool, while they have won their last four and now sit 13 points clear of the bottom three with only 15 to play for.

However, Diame has been sensational in recent months and seemed to be everywhere during the win over Arsenal, dominating the battle in the middle of the park along with Jonjo Shelvey. And the Newcastle fans could not be anymore delighted to have been proven wrong by the Senegal international.
