Rangers suffered an embarrassing and heavy defeat to Old Firm rivals Celtic at Hampden Park on Sunday afternoon.
Graeme Murty’s side headed into the Scottish Cup semi-final tie against the Hoops high on confidence.
However, Rangers failed to compete with Brendan Rodgers’s side and suffered a comprehensive 4-0 loss.
Celtic were the better team from start to finish, and it did not help Rangers’ cause when Ross McCrorie was dismissed in the opening minutes of the second half.
The 20-year-old Scotland Under-21 international defender pulled back Moussa Dembele inside the Celtic penalty in the 51st minute.
It resulted in the sending-off of McCrorie, and Celtic striker Dembele subsequently successfully converted the spot kick.
The image of McCrorie coming off the pitch at Hampden Park after being shown the red card pretty much sums up Rangers’ afternoon.
Over the course of the 90 minutes at Hampden Park on Saturday afternoon, Rangers had 47% of the possession, took four shots of which two were on target, and earned seven corners, according to BBC Sport.
