Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to respond to Jamaal Lascelles' tweet after the Magpies' stunning win over Arsenal on Sunday, with many supporters urging the defender to ignore interest from elsewhere and become a St James' Park legend.

Rafa Benitez's side took another giant step towards securing Premier League safety as goals from Ayoze Perez and Matt Ritchie saw them come from behind to beat the Gunners and bag their fourth consecutive win that leaves them within touching distance of guaranteeing a second year at the highest level.

It was another sensational performance from the Magpies that takes them desperately close to eighth place Leicester and should help ensure that the club finish the campaign and go into the summer on a major high. 

And after the clash, Lascelles took to social media to celebrate the win and praise the supporters for the atmosphere that they created against Arsene Wenger's side.

While many fans praised Lascelles' performance, there were also plenty of responses that were regarding his future as he continues to be linked with a number of top sides in the Premier League.

The Chronicle reported in February that Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton are all keen, while The Telegraph suggested that Tottenham are also eyeing the Magpies skipper.

And several of the supporters have urged Lascelles to ignore any interest from elsewhere and become a hero at Newcastle - as he is certainly on the right path at the moment.
