Liverpool were keen on Ahmed Hegazi before his permanent move to West Bromwich Albion, and some fans are keen to see their interest reignited.

A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to discuss the possibility of signing West Brom defender Ahmed Hegazi after his superb display during the Baggies' surprise win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Heading into the game, it appeared inevitable that Darren Moore's side were going to be pushed slightly closer towards relegation to the Championship with Jose Mourinho's men boasting more league wins since the start of March than West Brom had had all season.

However, the table was turned on its head as West Brom performed superbly and thoroughly deserved their 1-0 win which came when Jay Rodriguez scored with a header during the second-half.

It may come too late for West Brom, but a number of their players are doing their chances of remaining in the top flight next season no harm at all - with Hegazi one of the few players whose reputation has been enhanced this term.

Signed on loan in the summer, the Egyptian has been an inspired addition and losing him at the end of the campaign would be a huge blow for the Baggies as they gear up for a probable campaign in the Championship.

It was during his time on loan with the club that ESPN reported that Liverpool were keen on a potential move for the centre-back. And after the Baggies' shock victory, it appears that a number of Reds fans are keen to see Hegazi targeted at the end of the campaign, and it is hardly surprising given how well Liverpool's last deal involving an Egypt international has turned out.
