The former Luton Town star would be a good signing for Leeds, Wednesday or Forest in the summer transfer window, but it seems that they will face competition from a club in mainland Europe.
Peterborough manager Steve Evans, who was in charge of Leeds from October 2015 until the end of the 2015-16 season, has written in The Football League Paper, as shown in the post on social networking site Twitter below: “Jack is wanted by several big Championship clubs and I can tell you exclusively today that one European club have been watching him closely in recent weeks - and on Thursday sought a valuation from our chairman. Mark my words, this kid is going to the top.”
Evans’s comments about Marriott suggest that Leeds, Wednesday and Aitor Karank’s Forest are interested in the former Ipswich Town striker.
However, it seems that the unnamed European club is determined to sign Marriott and has already expressed their interest.
Leeds, Wednesday and Forest will have to step up and make their moves.
