Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld looks certain to leave Mauricio Pochettino’s side this season.

Jermaine Jenas has told BT Sport Score that he expects Tottenham Hotspur to lose a key player, alongside Toby Alderweireld in the summer transfer window.

Alderweireld looks almost certain to leave Spurs now, with Mauricio Pochettino seemingly happy to cash in on the centre-back.

But Jenas does not believe that Tottenham’s bad news will stop with Alderweireld’s departure.

The former Spurs midfielder also fears that one of their top players could depart.

“I expect them to lose one big one,” he said. “If they keep hold of Eriksen or Dele next season, they’ll do well.

“I’ve accepted that Alderwerield is going, but because Sanchez has played so well this year, not much has changed. That’s where they might fall short.”

Recent reports have suggested that Spurs are planning to offer new contracts to Alli and Eriksen, in attempt to get them to commit their futures.

However, with Spurs not paying the wages of some of their Premier League rivals, speculation will always surround their key stars.

Alli and Eriksen have both been in fine form over recent weeks, with their pair pivotal to Pochettino’s side’s attacking play.
