Could Liverpool lose Mohamed Salah in the summer transfer window?

Mohamed Salah of Liverpool looks on during the Premier League match between Liverpool and Watford at Anfield on March 17, 2018 in Liverpool, England.

Ian Wright has suggested in The Sun that Liverpool star Mohamed Salah may not stay at the club for long.

The Arsenal legend has suggested that the Reds could have a situation similar to Philippe Coutinho.

Coutinho joined Barcelona from Liverpool in the January transfer window for a fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £142 million.

As reported by The Guardian, the 25-year-old Brazil international, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, wanted to leave Liverpool in the summer of 2017 and had put in a transfer request.

Former Arsenal striker Wright has suggested that Egypt international winger Salah could also leave the Reds soon.

While speculating that Spanish giants Real Madrid could be interested in Salah, Wright wrote in The Sun: “I’ve a horrible feeling that, as far as Liverpool and Klopp are concerned, they will have another Philippe Coutinho situation on their hands sooner rather than later.

“And we all saw how that one played out in the end with the Brazilian heading off to Barcelona for £145million.

“Until that day arrives, though, let’s enjoy every minute of seeing Salah light up the Premier League. He’s doing plenty of it.”

Worry over future?

Salah has been in superb form for Liverpool so far this season and is banging in the goals left, right and centre.

The former Chelsea winger, who earns £90,000 per week as salary at Liverpool according to The Independent, has scored 28 goals in the Premier League and six in the Champions League so far this campaign.

It is hard to see Liverpool sell the 25-year-old in the summer transfer window, especially as they sold Coutinho in January.
