Everton are reportedly keen on PSV Eindhoven’s Marcel Brands.

Everton may have beaten Stoke City 2-1 on Saturday afternoon, but manager Sam Allardyce isn’t safe yet – and neither is director of football Steve Walsh.
The Toffees may well choose to review Allardyce’s position this summer after a patchy spell in charge, and Walsh may be at even greater risk after some questionable signings.
Big money was spent over the summer on the likes of Michael Keane, Davy Klaassen, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Sandro Ramirez, but limited returns on Farhad Moshiri’s investment mean that Walsh is in danger of losing his job.

The Liverpool Echo recently reported that Everton have spoken to PSV Eindhoven’s Marcel Brands about joining the club, with the Dutch sporting director potentially being lined up to succeed Walsh.
Brands would be charged with a number of tasks if he does arrive at Goodison Park, and finding a new left back would be one of the most important, given that Leighton Baines is ageing and there is little cover behind him.
Intriguingly, Brands recently told FOX Sports in the Netherlands that he wanted to bring Manchester City left back Angelino to PSV, but was priced out of a January deal as City wanted more than £10million for the Spaniard.

Angelino, 21, joined City from Deportivo La Coruna in 2013, and has made three first-team appearances for the club, but has mostly spent time out on loan at New York City, Girona, Mallorca and NAC Breda.
Diminutive, quick, dangerous from set pieces and adept at crossing, Angelino resembles something of a younger Baines, and the alleged £10million asking price City hold on the defender would be well within Everton’s budget, even it would be something of a gamble on somebody with such little experience.
Everton need a talented young left back to learn and develop behind Baines, and Angelino certainly fits the bill, with Brands clearly a fan of the youngster, and summer moves to Goodison Park for Brands and Angelino make sense given Walsh’s struggles and the desperate need for a left back, with Everton potentially a good home for Angelino to settle down at after so many years out on loan.
