The centre-back signed for Wolves shortly after his release by Norwich, alongside Wanderers goalkeeper John Ruddy.
And after Bennett's return to the side for Tuesday's 3-0 win against Reading, Wolves fans believe it was one of the best decisions they've made.
The 28-year-old sat out Wanderers' last two fixtures in favour of Danny Batth, but replaced the Compton Park product after Saturday's 4-1 humbling by Aston Villa and turned in a near flawless display.
Here's what Wolves supporters are saying about Bennett's performance...
Have to say Ryan Bennett is the ultimate in not knowing what you have till it’s gone. One of my favourite things about him as a player is that you hardly notice his presence, such an unfussy player. His distribution grows in importance when it’s absent #WWFC— Musings from Molineux (@molineuxmusings) 14 March 2018
Ryan Bennett must be one of the signings of the season, of all the money we spent we got him on a free.. clean sheets for fun #wwfc— Liam Flecknor (@LiamFleck) 14 March 2018
danger before it becomes an issue. This talent is the reason Ruddy's gloves were as clean leaving the pitch as when he first entered it.— SouthBankResistance (@SBR_WWFC) 14 March 2018
Doc was rewarded for his constant ability to get forward & gamble of having a strike on goal immeaditely - some of his attacking colleagues
What a response. From min 1 everyone was at it & #wwfc had an appetite to create. Special mention to the criminally underrated Bennett, whose distribution goes from strength to strength. This is a player who has thrived under Nuno - you can really tell he's enjoying his football.— Paddy Day (@paddyday90) 14 March 2018
After all the talk about wolves & ffp/bringing in foreign players recently, it’s great to see Bennett who we got on a free have a quality game #wwfc— Jamie (@__jamiejones) 13 March 2018
Makes you wonder just why Bennett was dropped in favour of Batth last week. We looked so much more composed tonight. Can't imagine Batth cutting inside his man and laying off a pass like Bennett did at one point in the 2nd half. #wwfc— Tom (@laneystain) 13 March 2018
Agreed. Thought Bennett was different class tonight. So composed on the ball.— Peter King (@pking109) 13 March 2018
Ryan Bennett was immense tonight, his distribution is such an upgrade on Batth's #wwfc— Sam (@SamW160) 13 March 2018
Bennett, who is also said to have been courted by Sheffield United after leaving Norwich, appears destined for promotion with Wolves, whose lead over third-placed Villa was extended to 10 points on Tuesday.
As for his old side, they are 20 points further behind in 14th position.
Have Norwich made a mistake allowing Bennett to leave?
