If Kenedy is available for £15 million, Newcastle must sign him

Kenedy has been a star in black and white since he arrived on loan in January, and Newcastle must make his move permanent in the summer.

The tattooed Brazilian bagged a brace in Newcastle's 3-0 victory over Southampton, his first goals in a Toon shirt, and fans are now clamouring for Kenedy to become a permanent member of the team.

The Mirror have reported that Chelsea's asking price for Kenedy is £15 million pounds, and considering his performances so far as well as the economic climate of football, that is a deal that Newcastle surely cannot miss out on.

Since Kenedy rocked up at St James' Park, his class has been clear for all to see, providing multiple assists and now getting on the score-sheet, adding another dimension to Newcastle's previously faltering attack.

In a case of 'try before you buy', Kenedy's loan spell has acted as the perfect audition for the 22-year-old, who has grabbed his chance at Newcastle with both hands, impressing both his manager and supporters.

Last season, Newcastle loaned Christian Atsu from Chelsea and his performances were enough for the Ghanaian to earn a permanent move to Tyneside, and we should try and do exactly the same with Kenedy.

The youngster may cost a lot more than Atsu did, a near club record fee for Newcastle, but Kenedy has shown he can hang in the Premier League, and that he is better than any of the other attacking options in Rafa Benitez's squad.

£15 million is a lot of money to a cash-shy club like Newcastle, but it is almost a premium you have to pay for decent Premier League players nowadays, so the deal seems like a no-brainer.

If Kenedy were to return to Chelsea in the summer, then Newcastle would need to start the scouting process again and find another winger capable of matching Kenedy's qualities. That player will not be cheap, and there is no guarantee that he would be better than Kenedy.

With the Chelsea-owned midfielder, we know exactly what we are getting if we sign Kenedy permanently, therefore Newcastle can save themselves some grief in the transfer market by signing him, and focusing the rest of their efforts on strengthening other areas of the pitch.

For £15 million, Kenedy is must-sign.
