Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has suggested to MLS Soccer that he has always respected Everton boss Sam Allardyce.

Wilshere has been linked with a move to Goodison Park in the summer, with his Arsenal contract set to expire.

The Daily Mail suggest that Everton have their eye on Wilshere, and could move in a few months’ time.

And Wilshere’s past comments on Allardyce now take on added meaning.

Wilshere was asked what he thought of Allardyce’s management style, just after the Everton boss was appointed as England manager back in 2016.

And Wilshere said: “Ever since I was young, growing up, watching his teams play, all I remember is them being organised and having a style of play that gets result.”

Whether Allardyce will be at Everton next season remains to be seen, but it appears that Wilshere would have no qualms with linking up with the Toffees boss.

Allardyce actually overlooked Wilshere during his time in charge of the Three Lions, as he wasn’t playing for Arsenal at the time.

If Wilshere was brought to Everton, he would add to the Toffees’ midfield options for next term.
