Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has taken a swipe at Rangers ahead of the Old Firm derby at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon, as quoted by The Herald.

As quoted by The Herald, Rangers manager Graeme Murty has revealed that after the Scottish Cup semi-final draw was made, his players cheered, as the Gers will take on bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic.

Former Liverpool and Swansea City manager Rodgers is not bothered about that, pointing out that the start of the 2016-17 season, Rangers were planning to win the league title.

Rodgers was referencing a Rangers card display saying that the Gers were ‘Going for 55’.

“They obviously feel really, really confident but we’ve been there before – back when they were going for 55,” Rodgers told The Herald.

The Celtic manager added: “It is a similar feeling, a similar noise. If you have that expectancy then great, you have to go and deliver.”

Celtic favourites

Rangers are in good form at the moment and will fancy their chances of winning against Celtic at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.

Celtic, though, are the favourites, given their recent record in the Old Firm derby, and the fact that they have the best team in Scotland.

Tomorrow's match promises to be a hugely exciting game of football.
