Paul Heckingbottom made the bold decision to start Bailey Peacock-Farrell in goal for Leeds United but the Northern Irish goalkeeper could do nothing to prevent Wolves from winning 3-0 - and fans applauded the youngster's efforts on Twitter.

The 21-year-old was picked ahead of German goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald who has been heavily scrutinised of late due to his poor form of late that has seen him make a string of mistakes - coinciding with Leeds' run of bad results.

With Andy Lonergan injured, Peacock-Farrell was chosen to start between the sticks against the league leaders as Heckingbottom decided to axe former Werder Bremen stopper Wiedwald.

In what was only his second start for the Yorkshire giants, Peacock-Farrell impressed as he kept Wolves at bay with Leeds unable to cope with the Midlands club's attacking prowess.

He was a rare positive in another disappointing result under the guidance of Heckingbottom, which has seen the former Barnsley boss pick up just one win in six games as Leeds manager.

But Leeds fans were full of praise for Peacock-Farrell, who could now start against Reading at the Madjeski Stadium on Saturday afternoon after impressing with a string of top-draw saves.
