Arsenal fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Granit Xhaka against AC Milan.
Xhaka featured for Arsenal in their Europa League last-16 first-leg tie against Milan away from home at the San Siro on Thursday evening.
The 25-year-old midfielder started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as Arsene Wenger’s side won 2-0.
Although the Switzerland international midfielder played well and gave an encouraging display, some Arsenal fans were not still happy and are not getting carried away, given that the former Basel and Borussia Monchengladbach star has lacked consistency during his time at the Emirates Stadium so far.
Below are some of the best comments:
Xhaka had one of his best games tonight, wish he’d play like that more, if he had a proper cdm next to him with pace, I think he’d do a lot better— J_AFC (@Joshua_R3) March 8, 2018
#AFC | Xhaka had a fantastic game apparently, is 3 in midfield the way forward?— Chris Davison (@c11davison) March 8, 2018
Quite happy for Granit, he has the potential.
1 game guys. Changes nothing.— Rob (@RobAfc91) March 8, 2018
Positioning wise he was above average but the way he gives the ball away is still frustrating— Jösh Harris (@JoshHarris1997) March 8, 2018
I doubt it, they can all have a one off and play well every now and then— LiamCapstick (@LiamCapstickJr) March 8, 2018
??? He hardly did any defensive work though to be fair. I don’t recall any tackles. Just very loose passing from Milan.— MontrealGooner (@MontrealArsenal) March 8, 2018
I missed him being fantastic, Mhkitaryan and the whole of our Defense were good... Welbeck worked very hard.. no one else stood out— Fox (@Fostam) March 8, 2018
Have to say Xhaka was excellent tonight... I have coated him enough this season but very disciplined performance tonight just what was needed from him #afc— Terry Lyons (@TerrydLyons) March 8, 2018
