Newcastle United travel to take on Liverpool in the Premier League this weekend.

Newcastle United face a somewhat daunting trip to Liverpool this weekend, as they look to bounce back from the disappointment of their 2-2 draw at Bournemouth from Saturday afternoon.
The Magpies led 2-0 at Bournemouth thanks to goals from Dwight Gayle, but capitulated in the second half to only leave the South Coast with a point after a 2-2 draw.
Now, it’s another away trip on the cards for Newcastle, as they head to Anfield to take on a Liverpool side who thrashed West Ham United 4-1 on Saturday afternoon, with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino once again grabbing the headlines.

Whilst those star attacking players have received all the plaudits, another player who deserves credit is left back Andrew Robertson, who turned in another outstanding display and even notched an assist, teeing up Sadio Mane for Liverpool’s fourth.
The Scotland international, signed from Hull City last summer, has made the left back position his own at Anfield, and has become something of a fan favourite having solved a real problem position over the years.
This weekend, Robertson will go up against Newcastle, and can show Magpies boss Benitez just what he has been missing after the Spaniard registered an interest in signing Robertson twice.

The Daily Mail reported over the summer that Newcastle wanted Robertson from Hull before his Liverpool move, and The Chronicle added that Benitez was keen to take Robertson on loan last month after a lack of playing time at Liverpool.
Robertson would have been ideal to start at left back for Newcastle had they been able to land him, but instead Benitez must watch on as he continues his rise to prominence with Liverpool, wondering what might have been.
