Tottenham Hotspur beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at Selhurst Park this afternoon.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has told Football.London that he thinks Serge Aurier still needs time to adjust to the Premier League – and promised that Spurs will practice throw-ins every day after the Ivorian’s issues against Crystal Palace.
After a surprise FA Cup draw at Rochdale last weekend, Spurs were back in Premier League action today, as they made the short trip to South London to take on Crystal Palace in what looked like being a frustrating game.
Tottenham squandered a number of great opportunities to score, with Harry Kane surprisingly wasteful before he broke the deadlock with just two minutes top play, heading home Christian Eriksen’s corner to give Spurs all three points.

That leaves Tottenham fourth in the Premier League table, and whilst grabbing a late win was a huge positive for Spurs, the performance of right back Serge Aurier hasn’t been met quite so positively.
The Ivorian international was handed the start at right back ahead of Kieran Trippier, but remarkably notched a hat-trick…of foul throw-ins, in a bizarre display from the summer signing from Paris Saint-Germain.
Aurier was penalised three times for foul throw-ins, with two of them coming in three first-half minutes as fans mocked the the 25-year-old’s inability to simply take a throw-in within the rules of the game.
After the game, manager Pochettino has told Football.London that he promises Spurs will practice throw-ins every day, especially this week, after Aurier’s struggles, but defended the right back for his strange afternoon at Selhurst Park.

Pochettino added that Aurier still needs time to adjust to the Premier League following his summer move, suggesting that foreign players need time to adapt, even if centre back Davinson Sanchez has been ‘unbelievable’ this season.
“We are going to practice every day! I promise that to the fans too,” said Pochettino. “Every day this week! I’m sure they are very disappointed. The first one he tried to get the ball into play quickly and then maybe made a mistake. You know it was probably a little bit too much pressure from the referee, similar to Dele. When Dele does something he gets the focus, it was the same with Serge with the ball. But I promise everyone that we are going to practice every day.”
“Yes, he needs time. It is normal in the Premier League, it is not an easy position for players when they arrive, like Lucas [Moura] and Juan Foyth, I think who surprised everyone is Davinson Sanchez, at 21 his performances have been unbelievable,” he added.
Aurier has even taken to Instagram to react to the situation, also promising that he will improve his throw-ins, and was able to see the funny side of his misfortune in South London.
