Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers was this week tipped as a potential Tottenham manager.
Mauricio Pochettino has done such a great job at Tottenham since taking over in 2014 that many view him as irreplaceable.
One man who was tipped to carry on his job if Pochettino ever was lured away, is Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers.
He said: "He can only take Celtic so far. He’s a class manager.
"I can imagine, maybe once the Tottenham manager goes, he would be a great for Spurs."
Rodgers has got his managerial career back on track after being sacked by Liverpool in 2015. Just one year earlier he had come close to leading the Reds to the Premier League title.
He has won four domestic trophies at Celtic in just 18 months and is on course to win a second title in succession, losing just two league games during this span.
In European competition Rodgers has not fared so well.
Celtic crashed out of the Europa League last night, beaten 3-1 by Zenit St Petersburg on aggregate, following up an embarrassing 7-1 hammering by PSG earlier this season.
Tottenham fans were not impressed at all with the suggestion, and took to Twitter to lambast Stewart's comments...
@SpursOfficial I've seen it suggested that Brendan Rodgers would be a good option for Spurs! Not good enough for L'pool no good for us.— dick bunting (@fishydick) February 22, 2018
Wanna hear a joke? There was a guy on TalkSport today who reckons Brendan Rodgers would be a suitable replacement for Pochettino if he were to leave Tottenham. Have a good evening people— Max (@xDuoMax) February 22, 2018

What's his credentials again? Failed at Liverpool and ran away to Scotland to be literally spoon fed the championship every season.— buggerluggs (@VascoDaBabber78) February 22, 2018
I'd rather have Ronald Mcdonald
I’ll give up watching football if this happens— JakNak (@Jaknak_) February 22, 2018
