Ibrox ace Jordan Rossiter has stepped up his recovery from a long-term injury, but could he play for Rangers this weekend?

Rangers midfielder Jordan Rossiter was left out of the Gers' academy side as they suffered a 3-2 loss to Manchester United at Auchenhowie - and fans reckon that means he could play against Hamilton on Sunday.

Stephen Kelly and Aidan Wilson scored for the Light Blues, but United claimed victory thanks to a brace from substitute Anthony Elanga and a first-half effort from Dylan Levitt.

However, there was no place in the side for 20-year-old midfielder Rossiter, who has featured regularly for the second string as he looks to finally overcome a number of injuries and work his way back into Graeme Murty's first team.

Rossiter joined the Gers development side in Spain during the January getaway, where they faced Valencia and Villarreal among other sides. The former Liverpool midfielder played and captained 60 minutes of the win against Valencia.

He was brought to Ibrox by former manager Mark Warburton, but has managed just 10 games for the Light Blues as injury hampers his progress and was even targeted by English League One side Wigan in January according to reports.

Now, Rangers fans have speculated that Rossiter's omission on Wednesday afternoon could mean that he is set to feature against Hamilton as the Gers travel to New Doulgas Park ahead of Sunday's clash.
