Wolverhampton Wanderers are looking like they are on their way to the Premier League. Big spending by the Fosun group and a link with Portuguese super agent Jorge Mendes has helped Wolves to the position they are in today and the Championship win is now just a matter of time.

So why not start planning ahead for next season, by targeting some of the Mendes players who are available on a free transfer this summer?

One such player is Genoa midfielder Miguel Veloso.

The 31-year-old is out of contract at the Italian club in the summer but is certainly not a player to be passed upon.

With over 50 caps for Portugal he is an obviously talented individual with plenty of years still left in the tank.

He is a versatile and adept performer in a number of positions, including at left-back, and is a player with top international experience.

Wolves have developed a very good team with plenty of players from Mendes’ Gestifute agency. However, the club will need some experience in its ranks next season. Veloso, who has played at the highest level in club and international football for over a decade now could bring that sort of dependency to the Wolves midfield. Also, as a free transfer, he will be a good signing to save some money at Molineux and keep Financial Fair Play in the books.

Going for Veloso should be considered a no-brainer from a Wolves perspective.
