Newcastle United fans call out Garth Crooks after he did not select a single Toon player in his team of the week.
Newcastle United produced one of the best performances of the weekend as they shut out Manchester United an earned a shock 1-0 win.
There were standout displays from several players, including Jonjo Shelvey, Jamaal Lascelles, and new goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, who was making his debut.
Despite this there were no places for any Newcastle players in pundit Garth Crooks' team of the week column for BBC Sport.
Crooks selected Brighton and Hove Albion's Mat Ryan in goal - who saved a penalty against Stoke.
In defence he picked a back three, Tottenham's Jan Vertonghen, West Ham's Pablo Zabaleta and Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk.
Kevin de Bruyne and Gylfi Sigurdsson were selected as midfielders.
Each of the players had solid cases to be selected, but Newcastle fans were miffed that not even one Toon player managed to make it in.
Even after beating Man U we can’t get anyone in the team of the week. How is Shelvey not in? Crooks couldn’t manage a tescos! #nufc— Frank Gregan #FBPE (@Greegers) February 12, 2018
Garth Crooks proves once again he has no clue with his team of the week. No #NUFC players is ludicrous.— Matt Payne (@MGPayne) February 12, 2018
Gareth Crooks must be the worst football pundit of all time. His team of the week is once again a joke @BBCMOTD— Glenn Macandrew (@GMac1985) February 12, 2018
Sigurdsson over Jono Shelvey and Ryan over Newcastle's Dubravka. He miss half of Super Sunday?
Give me strength. The bloke is clueless on football!!
Newcastle keep a clean sheet at home Man Utd and Garth Crooks doesn’t even pick a single player for his team of the week? Weapon— Craig Woodhead (@Craigwoodhead32) February 12, 2018
Garth crooks is an absolute fraud of a 'football expert'.— joe lewis (@jlews87) February 12, 2018
Newcastle get a win against man Utd...clean sheet too and not a single player makes his team of the week??
If Shelvey, lascelles or dubravka played for Brighton or anyone else you can guarantee they'd have been in#nufc
