Pierre-Michel Lasogga has impressed the Leeds United fans in recent times, despite the team's poor run of form.

Since Pierre-Michel Lasogga arrived at Leeds in the summer in the wake of Chris Wood's departure, it is safe to say that opinions on the German striker have varied greatly, with his form seeming to fluctuate regularly during his time at Elland Road.

On his day, Lasogga has to be considered as one of the best strikers in the Championship, scoring eight goals in 19 league games. But when he has looked out of form, it becomes clear why Hamburg were willing to sanction his loan exit this term.

And with Leeds currently on a run of form that has not seen them win a game since Boxing Day, it would be easy to assume that Lasogga's performances have been under-par. But he has arguably been one of the Whites' best performers recently, and some of those who doubted him are starting to change their minds ever so slightly.

So when Lasogga posted a simple tweet on social media on Tuesday which included a photo of the striker celebrating his goal in the weekend defeat to Sheffield United, it prompted a clear response from the large majority of Leeds fans.

Firstly, here is what Lasogga posted on Twitter...

With Lasogga only on loan with Leeds, a large number of fans replied to the striker's tweet urging him and the club to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

With the Yorkshire Evening Post reporting earlier in the season that Leeds are paying around a quarter of his £50,000 a week wages, it seems an ambitious suggestion at this stage for Leeds to try and extend the deal beyond this summer.

But with Lasogga currently enjoying a run of three goals in four, it is no surprise that several Leeds fans responded to his tweet by urging him to join permanently. And if he can build on this current run and perhaps bring the Whites back into the play-off picture, the calls for the Leeds hierarchy to look into a more substantial deal may perhaps become too loud for Andrea Radrizzani to ignore.
