Nottingham Forest fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Everton-owned attacking midfielder Kieran Dowell against Hull City.
Dowell, who joined Forest on a season-long loan deal from Premier League club Everton in the summer of 2017, featured in the Championship game against Hull at the City Ground on Saturday afternoon.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as the Reds lost 2-0.

Dowell is so inconsistent, on his day he is premier league standard easy but recently that’s been rare. When he don’t turn up he is effectively an opposition striker probs better without him #nffc— stantonkin (@tonkinstan1) February 10, 2018
Was u at the game? .. he put in a lot of effort and tried to do a job even though he played out of position.. Dowell needs dropping not Ben O.— Mike...nffc (@nffcalways1) February 10, 2018
Only a couple started for #nffc today, AK needs to start more of them, pointless bringing them on whe the game is already lost, Dowell needs dropping, he’s been garbage for the last few games like he’s lost interest & we’re offering 0 support to our striker— Mike...nffc (@nffcalways1) February 10, 2018
Next game I'd drop Dowell and replace him with Watson who I'd make captain, I'd drop Fox for our new Spanish left back and I'd replace Mancienne with the Portuguese lad - we can't afford to be messing around any more and Karanka has to get even more ruthless it seems#NFFC— (((AJ)))#FBPE (@SonOfBrown17) February 10, 2018
I do question the deal with Dowell. Is his loan deal based on a certain amount of game time? He's been shocking for a run of games now, yet we keep playing him for a solid 90 minutes. Why? How? #NFFC— Dan (@Dan_LowerBC) February 10, 2018
Dowell.....am l the only who thinks that there must be something written into the terms of his loan deal that Everton has insisted that he starts every game. Whilst I don't want to knock the lad, he has been very poor for a while now and needs a break #NFFC— David Jackson (@lincsboydave) February 10, 2018
Dowell has scored nine goals and provided four assists in 27 Championship starts for Forest so far this season.
The England Under-21 international has been inconsistent, but Dowell is only 20 years of age and is still developing.
Forest are 16th in the Championship table at the moment with 35 points from 31 matches, only seven points above the relegation zone.
