Liverpool fans believe that Simon Mignolet is finished at Anfield, after Loris Karius’ good form over recent weeks.
Mignolet and Karius have been in a battle to be Liverpool’s number one goalkeeper over the season, and Jurgen Klopp has gone with the German stopper more recently.
Karius has played in Liverpool’s last four Premier League matches in succession.
And Liverpool fans now believe that Mignolet is set for a long spell on the sidelines, as Karius is the better option.
I actually think that Mignolet's time is done, Klopp is getting a new Goalie then we'll have Karius and another no1.— Byron Mbofana (@blew_byron) February 7, 2018
anyone that watched Karius at Mainz knows he's a top top keeper, never got the comparisons with that clown Mignolet never will— - (@RashadJunior) February 4, 2018
One question answered from LFC-THC; Loris Karius has immense quality in him. A clear upgrade on Mignolet. Proved that quality is not an issue for him, consistency is. Had a phenomenal game despite conceding two goals - chanceless on the first and got wrongly punished for a dive.— Maxi (@MaaxiAngelo) February 4, 2018
I think we are interested in a keeper like Alisson but this is the last chance for Karius. Mignolet is done for thank god, Karius I think it’s now or never for him— LFC_000 (@LFC_000) February 7, 2018
Even if we were to get a new keeper should definitely keep Karius. Clearly surpassed Mignolet this season. https://t.co/NcDYmEYGFn— Anthony Gilberg (@AnthonyGilberg) February 6, 2018
Loris Karius really seems like a top guy. I’m so glad he’s our starting keeper now. I hope we bin Mignolet in the summer then sign someone like Allison and Karius can play the European games, cup games, and a few league games. Love him https://t.co/0u7rc0CFul— Jeremiah (@RapidRobertson) February 6, 2018
On the subject of Prince Loris, just had the horrible thought that Klopp might play Mignolet in the Champions League. Was almost sick. He better not— LFC Focus (@LFCFocusTV) February 5, 2018
Mignolet was actually given a number of chances by Klopp this term, but he has proven error-prone.
The Belgian goalkeeper is arguably the weakest stopper to have regularly started for any of the sides chasing the Champions League this season.
Liverpool are expected to bring in a new number one in the summer, even though Karius has impressed of late.
Liverpool are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Southampton on Sunday.
