Sheffield Wednesday Under-23s made it three wins out of three for Owls youth teams against Sheffield United, courtesy of last night's 2-0 success at Bramall Lane.
Wednesday's U16s and U18s came away from Shirecliffe with 5-1 and 3-1 victories less than a fortnight ago, and goals from Jack Stobbs and Preslav Borukov made it a hat-trick on Monday.
With little to shout about at senior level this season - where Sheffield United are nine places and 13 points better off than their rivals in the Championship - some Owls fans are making the most of the U23s' success, which they are using to mock the Blades over a post made by their official Twitter account in April last year.
Shortly after United's status as League One champions was confirmed, they tweeted the following image, along with the words: "Think we need to update the honours board, don't you?"
However, as several people pointed out, said 'honours' board includes four play-off final and seven FA Cup semi-final defeats - including one against their rivals from Hillsborough.
Here's what those of a Sheffield Wednesday persuasion are saying...
Best stick that on honours board https://t.co/gxYz1ZWfY9— mark gelsthorpe (@markgelly1981) 5 February 2018
Sheffield United U18’s 1— Pete (@PistolPete1867) 5 February 2018
Sheffield Wednesday U18’s 3
Sheffield United U23’s 0
Sheffield Wednesday U23’s 2
That’s 2 massacres in the space of a couple of weeks... let’s get it on our honours board!!! #swfc
Others, meanwhile, are discussing more serious matters, such as the prospect of a few of Wednesday's U23s being called into Jos Luhukay's first team set up, after the positive impressions made by Jordan Thorniley and Cameron Dawson - among others - of late...
Get more in first team instead of some of the con artists we keep giving a shirt to— Thomas Cousins (@cuz1989) 5 February 2018
Why not give these boys a try in the first team , cannot be any worse than Saturday !!— john Fletcher (@johnf2268) 5 February 2018
Start them Saturday, start them all!— mark haslam (@_hazzy) 5 February 2018
Not even talking the piss here, get Jack Stobbs in first team. He’s probably most ready and is a better opinion than the likes of Wallace— O (@OSWFC_) 5 February 2018
