Yet perhaps one of the most worrying statistics is that Leeds are the most ill-disciplined team in the second tier of English football, with Gaetano Berardi’s red card against the Bluebirds their seventh in the league already this season.
That is more than double the amount of dismissals than any other team in the division bar Sheffield Wednesday (five), Millwall and QPR (both four).

In the matches that the Yorkshire outfit have seen red, they have gone on to lose five of them, drawn one and won one – which was at Bristol City when the hosts also had a player sent off at the same time.
Including the cups it is now nine red cards for Leeds in 2017/18, with them going out of the FA Cup to League Two’s Newport County after going down to ten men, and clearly this lack of discipline is starting to cost them dear.
