The 20-year-old scored on debut with new loan club Portsmouth.
Tottenham Hotspur have a long list of promising young players coming through the system, many of whom have a chance of playing regular first-team football at the club under Mauricio Pochettino’s regime.
One such player is Anton Walkes. The versatile defender, who can also play in defensive midfield, is a top talent for whom Spurs have high hopes.

With that in mind he spent most of 2017 out on loan with MLS side Atlanta United where he improved his game outside of his comfort zone. Toward the end of the transfer window he was sent out on loan again, joining Portsmouth until the end of the season.
He has certainly had a good start to life in League One. He scored for the club today on his debut. The 20-year-old bundled home a volley after Doncaster Rovers, who were leading 1-1 at the time, failed to clear a corner.
The game ended 1-1 and whilst Walkes was clearly pleased to be on the scoresheet, he was not happy with the result:

There is no doubt that the Spurs youngster has already made himself popular with the Pompey faithful.
Tottenham fans will no doubt keep track of the talented youngster for the rest of the season as he tries to help the South Coast club back to the Championship.
