Report: David Moyes could block Reece Oxford's planned West Ham United departure

West Ham United defender Reece Oxford came off the substitutes' bench last night.

According to a report on Sky Sports Live Transfer Blog, Reece Oxford is set to meet with David Moyes to discuss his West Ham United future this morning.

Oxford had been due to return to Borussia Monchengladbach on loan, but there is now a chance that the youngster will be kept at the London Stadium.

Oxford came off the substitutes’ bench last night, as West Ham picked up a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace.

And Moyes is now said to be considering blocking the move, as he wants to keep Oxford around.

West Ham regard the England youth international as one of the most exciting youngsters in their system, but he has struggled for game time this season.

However, with injuries mounting up at the London Stadium, Oxford could now be required to play a part for the Hammers.

West Ham have made just one signing so far this month, with Joao Mario arriving.

And if talks with Oxford go well this morning, the 19-year-old could now be kept around by West Ham for the remainder of the campaign.
