Rolando Aarons has reportedly decided to move to Italian top-tier side Hellas Verona instead of Championship side Hull City on deadline day - and Newcastle fans have reacted on Twitter.
Sky Sports claim on their Transfer Centre (Wednesday, 12:12) that the 22-year-old has decided to reject a relegation scrap in the Championship with Nigel Adkins' Hull.
Instead, he is set to move to Verona in a bid to help the Italians survive relegation from Serie A, in a move that will see the exciting winger link up with Rafa Benitez's former assistant manager Fabio Pecchia.
Benitez worked with Pecchia at Real Madrid and Napoli and that could have proved a part in the Toon winger's decision to move to Italy instead of remaining in the country with Hull.
Newcastle fans have reacted on Twitter by applauding Aarons' decision to make the bold move abroad, while others are concerned that the Toon are confirming more outgoing deals than incoming players.
One fan stated that a move to Verona "can only be good for him".
Good for him, a young English player going abroad, can only be good for him!— Better Than Joselu (@NUFCPessimist) January 31, 2018
Would you rather be in Hull or Verona for the next 6 months Rolando? Difficult to decide... pic.twitter.com/zFrTO3ZvC5— David Weatherston (@dweatherston11) January 31, 2018

More English players should go abroad good on him— Harry Thomas (@harrythomas451) January 31, 2018
It's a bold move to go to Italy. Clearly the fact that Pecchia is the manager of Hellas Verona convinced Aarons to make the switch.— Andrew McVittie (@Andrew_McVittie) January 31, 2018
Nice to see English players moving abroad rather than staying in England for bang average clubs— Robert Brown (@rbrown172) January 31, 2018
