HITC Sport understands Bradford have seen three bids for the striker rejected.
Chesterfield have rejected three bids from Bradford City for striker Kristian Dennis, HITC Sport understands.
Bradford boss Stuart McCall is desperate to add to his striking options before Wednesday's transfer deadline and had made Dennis his top target.
However, the League One promotion hopefuls have seen their overtures turned down by Chesterfield, with the latest offer of £175,000 flatly rejected by the Spireites.
Dennis has been the standout performer for Chesterfield so far this season and is among the top goal-scorers in League Two despite their problems at the wrong end of the table.
The prolific forward has scored 15 times in all competitions for the Spireites and he has established himself as a key player at the club since joining on a free transfer in the summer of 2016.
Dennis finished as Chesterfield's top scorer last term, managing 10 goals in 42 appearances in his first campaign in the Football League.
Dennis is out of contract at Chesterfield this summer, but the club are reluctant to lose him as they battle to avoid relegation from League Two.
