West Brom and Liverpool fans have both taken to Twitter after the two sides’ FA Cup tie at Anfield on Saturday night to comment on the performance from Grzegorz Krychowiak as the Baggies booked their place in the fifth round of the competition.

It was certainly one of the most dramatic games that either team will play out all season, with VAR’s contribution to the game dominating many of the headlines.

Ultimately however, it was Alan Pardew’s side who progressed as the Baggies picked up just their sixth win of the season in all competitions.

After falling behind to Roberto Firmino in the very early stages, two goals from Jay Rodriguez meant that the Baggies were leading after 11 minutes, and they went into the break 3-1 ahead after a Joel Matip own goal.

Mo Salah would set up a nervy finish by halving the deficit in the latter stages, but West Brom would hold on for a win that will surely do their confidence the world of good – even after their recent upturn in form.

While he did not get on the scoresheet, Krychowiak’s performance was lauded by both sets of fans on social media. The Poland international has endured a difficult time at The Hawthorns, but had hinted that he was starting to turn a corner in recent weeks, and his display at Anfield suggested that the turnaround was complete.

It not only impressed the Baggies fans, but several Liverpool fans either praised his performance or suggested that Jurgen Klopp should have a look at signing him in the summer when his loan deal expires.
