Newcastle and Crystal Palace ready to battle for prolific striker Richmond Boakye.

Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are eyeing moves for Red Star Belgrade striker Richmond Boakye before the close of the transfer window, HITC Sport understands
Newcastle and Palace have both beein the market for striking reinforcements throughout this month’s transfer window reopens as they look to bring in a forward to help fire them to safety in the Premier League.
Both clubs are struggling at the wrong end of the Premier League table and goalscoring has been a major problem for both teams having scored just 22 goals each in 24 games to date.
Boakye has emerged on the radar of the two Premier League clubs after impressing for Red Star Belgrade this season.

The Ghana international has scored 15 goals in 14 Serbian SuperLiga games and he has netted 23 goals from 28 appearances in all competitions for Red Star Belgrade.
A number of clubs from other bigger European leagues have been keeping tabs on Boakye with Chelsea credited with an interest in his services in November.
However, Newcastle and Palace are both ready to firm up their interest in the 24-year-old by making a move for the prolific forward before next week’s deadline.
Boakye is under contract at Red Star Belgrade until 2020 and although the Serbian side would be reluctant to lose the striker they are bracing themselves for offers.
