People News - Citi, Moelis & Co

Citigroup has promoted Jose Cogolludo to be global head of commodities, replacing Stuart Staley, who was recently named head of its Asian markets and securities services business.

Reuters reports that Cogolludo is currently head of sales for commodity derivatives. He will be based in London and report to Paco Ybarra, head of markets and securities services.

Cogolludo joined Citi in 2012 from BNP Paribas, where he was head of sales for commodity derivatives. Before that he held senior positions in commodities at JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs.

In the meantime, Moelis & Co. has reported on Linkedin that they have promoted 5 staff to Managing Director. Here's the announcement:

'We are pleased to announce our 2017-2018 Managing Director promotions. One of the most significant drivers of our success over the last 10 years has been our ability to foster deep and long-lasting relationships with our clients. The best way to continue that momentum is by investing in the long-term goals of our people, allowing them to grow alongside these relationships and develop into strong leaders. Congratulations to the following five individuals for reaching this milestone: Ben Axelrod (NY), Francesco Del Vecchio (London), Anthony Doeh (London), Mark Laoun (NY), and Swati Rao (San Francisco). Including these new MDs, nearly 30% of our Managing Directors have reached the most senior level of our firm through internal promotion. We thank each of them for their hard work, dedication, leadership, and partnership'.
