Liverpool and Everton both look set to snub the chance to move for Charlton Athletic defender Ezri Konsa this month.

Konsa is one of the most exciting talents in the Football League right now, and is coming through at a club that has produced a long line of academy prospects who have gone on to play at the highest level at some stage in their careers.

The Mail reports that Liverpool and Everton have watched the centre-back closely in recent times, and it appeared that the Premier League pair may be tempted to step up their efforts to bring the 20-year-old in this month.

The Mail suggests that Charlton had hoped to use Konsa’s potential sale to boost their transfer kitty. So perhaps it may not be out of the question to suggest that Everton or Liverpool, or any other team interested, may use the League One side’s desire to sign more players to try and negotiate the price down slightly.
But as things stand, it appears that both Liverpool and Everton are prepared to shelve any plans they had to pursue Konsa – for this window, at least.
