The Ipswich Town striker could cost Cardiff City eight times less than they are said to have been quoted for Bournemouth’s Lewis Grabban.

Cardiff City can sign Ipswich Town’s David McGoldrick for eight times less than they are being quoted for Bournemouth’s Lewis Grabban, according to the Daily Mirror.
The report claims Ipswich want £500,000 for McGoldrick, whose contract expires at the end of the campaign.
Bournemouth, meanwhile, are said to be asking £4 million for Grabban, after recalling him from a productive spell at Sunderland. And according to the Sun [Goals pullout; page five] Cardiff will offer the full amount for the latter.

McGoldrick has scored eight goals and created another five for his teammates this season – four fewer and five more than Grabban managed at Sunderland.
There is no mention of a new contract in the Daily Mirror report, and Ipswich may be inclined to cash in now rather than risk losing the 30-year-old for nothing in five months time.

And he is likely to jump at the chance of a move to Cardiff, who are 11 points and nine places better off than 12th-placed Town.
